Someone just dropped Gomes in one of my leagues and I would like to pick him up. Should I drop Mike Lowell to pick him up? I could drop Luis Gonzalez from Colorado, but I don't really want to because of his eligibility at every position but catcher. Do you think Lowell will return to form in Boston or should I pick up Gomes.

Lowell couldn't be powerful with Delgado/Cabrera in the lineup, it'll be kinda hard for him to produce in Bo-Town. Depends Keeper?

It is not a keeper league, it is a Standard 5X5 roto league (like the J&P League). Here is my entire team. Someone earlier suggested that I drop Baldelli, which I am thinking could be a possibility. Also, do you think Paul Byrd will be strong this year...I am keeping my eye on Daniel Cabrara (with Leo as the pitching coach he could be really good this year)...also, have you looked at your team in the league I created? Only three managers showed up to the draft, so I am hoping everyone plans to participate in this league as well (I know I can never get enough fantasy baseball...I am in 4 leagues right now).
C-Piazza 1B-Delgado 2B-Loretta 3B-Wright SS-Crosby OF-Pierre OF-Abreu OF-Bonds (got him in the 12th round this time) Util-Edmonds BN-A. BĂ©ltre BN-Baldelli BN-Lowell BN-L. Gonzalez (Col)
SP-Zambrono SP-F. Hernandez RP-Gagne RP-Turnbow P-Duke P-Benitez P-Blanton BN-Byrd

Yeah, I went to the hospital (for my grandma) and missed the draft.
I'd keep Baldelli for at least April. His speed is just too great to just put on the WW. With Bonds on Planet Abdul & Pierre's consistency woes, you need Baldelli there. But if you drop Baldelli and get Gomes, you are not really losing a lot.
Just out of curiousity, try dangling Duke, he's been overtargeted this offseason.

Also, I've considered dropping loretta and using Lowell at 2B, but I think Loretta could be a run machine in Boston, but I also think that Lowell could rebound some in Boston as well. Do you think Baldelli will come back strong after missing all of last year? Gonzalez is probably the most dropable player I have, but that leaves me thin at 1B and since I have top priority on waivers, Gomes is too good to pass on.

Looking at that, go after Gomes and drop Luis Gonzalez. Gonzalez has produced a WHOLE lot in COL and is more of a better player in life than fantasy.
Also, I do believe Baldelli will come back strong, he's one of the small sleepers this year. Like I said, don't really trade him but see what you can get for Duke. You would be really surprised, especially since Paul Maholm is this year's Zach Duke.

Does Maholm pitch for Pitt? Yeah, I like the speed Baldelli brings to the table and I think he hit 27 homers two years ago, so he has some pop. If I drop Gonzalez I don't have anyone to back up Delgado...plus, being the full time 2B in Colo, I think he will put up decent totals. Who would you offer from my team to acquire utley? The guy who has him has Pujols at 1st and Polanco to back up Utley. I've been thinking about offering Lorette and an outfielder.
By the way, I am sorry that your Grandmother is in the hospital. I hope everything is OK.

She has low-blood pressure, they've seen worse, she's awake and alert at the least.
For Utley? I'd package Gonzalez (if you keep him), Benitez and another player of your choice for Utley.
Also, Maholm does indeed pitch for PIT and has just a high of ceiling as Duke.
